Finally a new project to post

This isn't related to any challenges.  I followed the Zva Creative blog hop today and all of the crystals and pearls inspired me to get to work.  The overall pic is a bit blurry but my sister would probably appreciate that.  I love the pictures and the colors she chose for them to where.  The blue is so vibrant.  There is so much sparkle on this layout.  The green paper is from a paper pack long ago separated so I can tell you who made it but it has a sparkly sheen.  I misted all of the flowers from Hero Arts and Prima with Glimmer Mist's.  Lots of rhinestones set with my i-rock.  Patterned paper is from a Glitter Stack by MME.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.  I hope since I have 1 week before my last 2 college courses start I can do some more creating.   Then I will probably be hit or miss til March.  I must focus on getting my DS scrapbook done for graduation in May.  Yikes there is so little time!  Hope everyone has a wonderful new year!

Happy Thanksgiving

Yes I am still around, just incredibly busy right now and haven't had anytime for crafting.  I was finishing up my bachalor's degree and was down to only 1 class left when the school I was attending was shut down.  So I have had to get transcripts from all of the schools I attended sent to a new college who was accepting Seniors that had been displaced.  Unfortunately to be able to graduate the school had to establish a minimum # of credits for residency.  Thankfully they made an exception for us displaced Seniors but I still have to take 4 classes instead of 1.  So I finally got everything squared away and enrolled in 2 classes.  Between 2 classes, 2 kids, full time job and the holidays moving in, I have got my hands full.  I will hopefully be able to play in Dec as I have a break from 12/15 to early January.  Then another 10 weeks of classes and I am officially done!  I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

A couple of cards for my guys

Lots of boys in the family so I always like to keep a few of these ready to go.  Girly cards are easier for me so I can't whip one of those up fairly quick and that seems to be what I gravitate to for challenges too unless it specifically is for a masculine card.  Stamps are from The Greeting Farm.  Love them and if you have looked at some of my other blog entries you'll see I like to use them often.  They are still pretty recent additions to my stash so the newness hasn't worn off yet and I get to practice my copic coloring skills which will always need to work I'm afraid.

Happy Anniversary Cards

I wanted to finish using up this little paper pack of red, cream and black paper so I made an Anniversary card and a 2nd card that could be either for an Anniversary or a Wedding.  My sister doesn't make her own cards but likes to send them.  She told me that her stash was getting low so for her Birthday I'll put together a stack of cards for various occasions and send to her.   These will probably be included.

Sweet Sunday Sketch and Paper Cutz challenges

This little gem I really like.  I really wanted to incorporate some lace as a challenge to myself.  I've had this box of lace pieces and just haven't used.  Mission accomplised.

Challenges are:
Sweet Sunday Sketch #88
Paper Cutz Challenge 62

Sweet Stop Sketch SSS77

I like the sketch and the card except for the flowers.  I just feel like they get lost.  I was using scraps and probably should have used a different pattern than the one they are sitting on.  They just fade away.  Oh well too late now and I think the card is still cute.  Stamp was a dollar stamp, don't remember where I got it or the brand.  Patterned paper was a freebee that I have had from Archivers and decided to get it used up.

Black, White and Lime Birthday Card

I made this card for my stash as well as a few of challenges.  It looks a little yellow in the picture but it is a vivid lime green.  The flower was cut from one of my cricut cartridges, Paisley I think but don't hold me to it.  Stamps are by Stampin Up.  Front says "wish" and inside reads "However you may celebrate, whatever you may do-hope your day is filled with love and wishes that come true!

The challenges are:

The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #104 - distressing (my flower was distressed after cutting with Cricut)
Cute Card Thursday #133 - make your own (made my own flower and border with punch)
Crazy 4 Challenges #c4c58 - birthday card

Another Birthday Card

A little more mature than the previous B-day card I posted but I like it.  Very simple card.  No coloring on this one.  I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  The patterned paper is old CTMH scraps.  I really try to use up scraps on my cards whenever I can.  It helps knock down that pile a bit.

This is my last post for the evening.  Back to work tomorrow for me.  I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Happy Fall Y'all

Mojo Monday had a cute little sketch this week.  I did alter it slightly.  I didn't include the tag but in it's place attached a leaf.  Got into the mood for fall with this one.  Perfect timing too cause a cold front must have blown thru and dropped the temps about 15 degrees to a beautiful 65.  It's definitely starting to feel like fall in Nebraska!

The Sweet Stop challenge

The Sweet Stop had a cut sketch this week.  Here is my take on it.  I altered it just slightly.  Stamps are an old SU set.  Bought them online some time ago and don't know the name of them.  The sentiment is also a SU set called Small Script.  Simple little card that I thought I might use for my parents anniversary coming up.

Just Us Girls Challenge and Cuttlebug Challenge

There was a sketch challenge over at Just Us Girls .  The background paper is from a stack of glittered paper and the flowers down the side are hand cut from a sheet of Basic Grey paper.  Stamps are older TAC stamps that I haven't used in ages.  A whimsical birthday card for my niece.  The challenge over at Cuttlebug Challenge site was to use the color pink and have a sentiment on the front in honor of My Pink Stamper being the prize sponsorr.  I think I included plenty of pink!

Jeremy from The Greeting Farm

He is my stamp of choice today for a sketch challenge at Caardvarks and it also fits the challenge at The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - challenge 99 for a clean and simple card.  I rotated the sketch because I didn't like the ribbon crossing his feet.  Love these little guys from the Roll Call set.

Scrapbook Layout

So I really liked the sketch  for challenge #43 over at Creative Genealogy Scrapbooking.com/ and decide to give it a try.  Let me know what you think.  I used to really over due my layouts and really like the simplicity of this layout.

last post for the day

Over at Secret Crafter Saturday challenge #98 was to start on Christmas cards.  I made 2 of them, trying to use up old Christmas paper.  The first is a gatefold that has a belly band on it.  It has glitter on the sentiment and a rhinestone on the inside snowflake.  The second card is a tri-fold I guess.  It's fun with bright cheery colors.

Outside with belly band in place.
Inside with belly band laying in front

2nd card closed.

You can see just the end flap folds over.

CCEE #1034

CCEE had a sketch challenge this week.  I love my little jogger, Paul.  I know the stamp "Lighten Up" is intended to be a hip term but combined with the jogger I thought it would be a cute idea for a friend of mine also on a diet.

Farm Fresh Friday challenge

This is for the FFF challenge over at The Greeting Farm.  I figure now that I have some of their great stamps, I can start participating in their challenges.  This week was a sketch from Mercy.   I gave it a try on 2 different sized cards.  The 1st is a 6" card and the second is a standard A2.  Both of these stamps are from the Roll Call set, Jeremy and Maria

C4C52 - Card featuring lattice

This one is a little hard to see but I do have lattice embossing in the white section of the card.  I took a 2nd picture hoping it would show up better.  This is for Crazy 4 Challenges #52.  This is another stamp from The Greeting Farm.  She is from the Roll Call set and is named Jade.

4 challenges in one card

This one might be a record for me.  I normally don't think challenges thru enough to combine more that maybe two.  With this card I met 4 different challenges.  I love this stamp.  It reminds me of my daughter.  It's from The Greeting Farm and the set is called Later Sk8tr.

This is my entry for the following challenges:
The Sweet Stop - SSS71 - sketch challenge
Cinema Saturday Challenge 93 - Use red accents
Paper Cutz Challenge 56 - Use metal
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 127 - don't use any die cutting

As promised last week

I took my new stamps from The Greeting Farm with me camping. I did a little stamping and coloring.  Now they are finally added to cards. I will have several posts as some of them I am entering in challenges. Here are a few that aren't for challenges.

Thanks for stopping by!

So excited

I don't have any projects to post but I got a package in the mail that I am so excited to put to use.  I ordered some stamps from The Greeting Farm that I have been wanting for months.  We are going camping this weekend so I am going to take some images with me and my copics instead of my usual book to read.  Happy dancing at my house!!!

Butterfly

I love this stamp and don't use it nearly enough.  I think because it is so large it can be intimitdating.  Lots of sparkle on this card.  The body of the butterfly is rhinestones.  The teal background paper has metallic silver swirls thru it.  The butterfly has dotted lines running thru it and I used a metallic pen to trace them.  Again I left it blank.  I like making cards that fit many occassions and then when I need one I can just add the appropriate sentiment.  Oh and yes I used plenty of pop dots too!  Love the dimension of this one.

More practice with my copics

This is a simple set of mini note cards.  I think they are about 2x3".  I love these sweet little girls.

DD's challenge to me

So while I was up creating and between projects, my daughter pulled out this piece of patterened paper.  She challenged me to make 2 cards for her use, with this paper.  Not an easy paper work with in my opinion but here are the cards that I came up with for her.  They seem suitable for a Freshman in High School.  We left them blank so that she can decide later what she wants to use them for.  I used markers on the girl and paper pieced her chair.  The stamp is from a CTMH set.

Can't believe he's a Senior

I have to start working on my son's scrapbook for Graduation.  Usually when I scrapbook I don't scrap in any kind of order, just whatever photos or paper speaks to me.  I've go to buckle down now.  My son is a Senior this year.  OMG where has the time gone.  So you will be seeing more pages of him than anyone else on the coming months.  If you take a close look you will notice his Beatles shirt which led me to the peace sign lace paper.  This kid was listening to the Beatles before this recent resurgence.  He has pics, books, belt buckle wallet and the only t-shirts he wears anymore are Beatles.  All in all he's just a Beatles nut!

Hip Hip Hooray

This is an old picture that I am finally getting scrapbooked.  I threw a big 30th b-day party for my husband at the local bar.  It was a good time and also happened to be the bar owner's wife's birthday.  I want to say it was her 50th but I can't remember for sure (thankfully I doubt she will ever see this post which should keep me out of hot water if I'm wrong :) ).  I used Sweet Treats for the Hip Hip Hooray and I can't honestly remember which font for the 30.  I love my Gypsy but sometimes it makes it difficult to keep track of which cartridge I used.

7th grade layout

I'm not sure that I feel this one is finished.  I think I may have to go back and a title or at least acknowledge the grade she was in.  I used Cindy Loo for the swirls.  I can't remember which cart for the background shape (Storybook maybe) and I used Forever Young for the flowers.  Cut several different sizes, distressed them and put them back together to make a flower.

Families are Forever

So I finally got some scrapbook pages done this past weekend as well.  I've been wanting to use my cricut to create some pages.  This page I used the Just Because cart.  Its a pretty simple layout.  I used Glimmer Mist on the title.  Hard to see in a pic but adds a little sparkle in person.

Owls

I love love love these owl stamps from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps.  Aren't they just the cutest!!  These don't really fit any challenge.  The 2 sheepish little guys are for a couple of girlfriends that I have been somewhat neglectful of and what to schedule a girl's night.  The ribbon repeats "Friendship is a Gift".  I think I am getting better at coloring with my Copics.  Practice, Practice, Practice

Black, White and Red all over

I made this set of cards for any occasion.  I think they would work equally well for a wedding, anniversay, sympathy or birthday card.  I'm getting good at using up scraps.  Scraps can take up a lot of room and can be a pain to organize.  I've been on a mission with my cards to try and use up as many scraps as possible.  The challenge over at Cute Card Thursday is "Whateva".  Stamps are Unity.

Its a Man's World over at The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

So guys cards aren't a favorite of mine. I find it can be difficult to create a masculine card. I did get this one created and think it fits the bill for this challenge.  Thanks for the challenge.

Basic Grey Challenge 26 - Pearls

So I fell in love with this bicycle stamp.  If anyone wants to know the maker, let me know and I can check.  Kids are upstairs asleep so don't want to disturb.  Two of the cards in the set have pearls on them so they fit the challenge over at Basic Grey Challenges.  I just am so proud of this set.  I think they turned out great.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peak!

Playing catch up

So I've been MIA, for a couple of reasons.  I was taking a couple of classes trying to finish up my elusive degree.  Of course, as seems to be my luck sometimes, the college announced it was closing it's doors.  I have only 1 class left to complete my bachelor's degree.  1 CLASS....  Now I am trying to find a school that will take me as a Senior with 3 hours left to complete my degree.  Area colleges are trying to help students out I'm just waiting to hear back at this point.  This was a little bit of depressing news and I really haven't been in a crafting mood.  This weekend I finally got my mojo back so get prepared to see some of my creations.  A little of this and a little of that.

Diaper Cake

So this is my 2nd attempt at a diaper cake.  I used the same items on the 1st one but it was too small.  I bought some more diapers and am so much happier with the result.  I think these are so cute.  This one is for a baby shower at work.

Awesome mail day

I am so excited for the weekend.  We are actually going to be home all weekend for a change so I can play with my new Cricut carts that came in the mail today.  I bought A Child's Year, Just Because and Robotz.  Linking them all to my Gypsy as I type so I can play on lunch break at work tomorrow.  Yeah!

My Pink Stamper Color Challenge

So I'd really like to win the Create a Critter cart.  I have literally been gone all weekend.  I didn't get into my scrapbook room til nearly 10pm but I really wanted to submit an entry for the challenge.  Silly me I thought I had a piece of pink 12x24 paper.  I got upstairs only to find I did not.  So I had to change my plans slightly.  I love the idea of this design but not sure about the colors.  I wanted to use more lime green/pink/black, instead had to incorporate the kelly green.  It works I guess.  Oh and it really isn't this washed out.  Didn't get a very good picture.  Her dress is 2 shades of pink and the little punched green flowers have a pink stripe and I add little pink prima's and rhinestones to the centers.  Check out My Pink Stamper.  Robyn has an awesome site.

Cricutters Anonymous Easter/Spring Challenge #31

I wasn't sure I had any carts with images appropriate for this challenge.  I love the search feature on my gypsy.  I have only one bunny image.  I used the bunny from Gypsy Wanderings and the card is from Wild Cards.  Happy Easter was (I think) the font on the Wild Card.  It was really late or early depending on your perspective when I finished this one up (2am).  Yellow CS is unknown, remaining papers are Basic Grey, flowers are misc from my stash and I used Grape Ice and Yellow Stickles for the flower centers.
